Browsing the Tool Catalog
The Tools page is the central directory of every software tool your organization tracks. All team members -- Owners, Admins, and Members -- can browse the catalog.
Searching for Tools
Use the search bar at the top of the Tools page to find tools by name. Results update as you type, so you can usually find what you need in a few keystrokes. You can also use the global search in the topbar to jump to a tool from any page.
Filtering the Catalog
Below the search bar you will find filter controls that let you narrow the list:
- Department -- Show only tools owned by a specific department (e.g., Engineering, Marketing).
- Tags -- Filter by one or more tags such as "design", "security", or "analytics".
- Status -- Limit results to Active, Under Review, or Deprecated tools.
Filters can be combined. For example, you can view all Active tools in the Engineering department tagged "CI/CD".
Understanding Tool Cards
Each tool in the catalog is displayed as a card containing:
- Tool name and a short description.
- Department badge showing which team owns the tool.
- Status indicator -- a colored label showing Active, Under Review, or Deprecated.
- Compliance badges -- quick visual indicators for data classification and review status (see Understanding Compliance Badges for details).
- Monthly cost if one has been entered.
- Tags displayed as small pills beneath the description.
Opening a Tool
Click any tool card to open its detail page. There you can see the full description, all compliance fields, the tool website link, and -- if you are a Member -- a button to Request Access.
Tips
- Bookmark the Tools page for quick access to your organization's full software inventory.
- If you cannot find a tool you expect to see, check whether a status filter is hiding it.
- Members can browse freely but cannot edit tool details. To make changes, ask an Admin.
